I’m going to talk about the “bow”. It is a musical tool that is use in the right hand of the musician and serves to play the violin, viola, violoncello or double bass. The bow is a wooden stick that has horse main. The mains are used for the bow is usually mongolian horse. Pernambuco is a wood from Brazil and is very famous for being a very hard wood. The bow has been changing over time. In the baroque period the bow was curved upwards and the modern period has a downward curve The size of the bow is very important. For example: the violin uses a bow more largest and the double bass use a bow more smallest. Music and interpretation. The music was always linked to my life. I started studying violoncello at 4 years old and I studied in an art school “Liceo Experimental Artístico de Antofagasta”. I don’t remember why I chose the violoncello (certainly the music) because I was very young, but mi mom was the person responsible for this. She took me to the birthday of a friend of her who played in the orchestra of my city. My mom told me that her friend played the “Happy Birthday” in violoncello and I was shocked, so she offered to be my teacher. If I had to talk about some positive side or benefit of studing music (really art in general) is that it sensitizes people and makes you see life in a different way.
